Tree of Accomplishments When drawing this I used a light pencil to draw the picture and a type of colored pens to go over it in color and bring the seasons depicted to a noticeable state. My motivation for this drawing was to provide incite to the struggles and stages to reach your goals in life. The tree represents the stages of growth, and the fruit one's accomplishments. The mist in the background gives the impression that it is not an actual place, or that a person's perception of this process may not be very clear.
While in the drawing the person is climbing the tree and is in the hardest stage of life, winter, but if she just looked up she could see the better times just around the corner. Through hard times your greatest accomplishments happen. Contours and Detail in Art

Negative Space in Life For this drawing I used one of my sisters as a scale model and several types of pencils. The purpose of this drawing is to show how one's life can be empty or fractured. The heart cut out on the left represents an empty heart, but if you hold it up and place some image behind it, it could also represent the filling of an empty heart. The reason why she is smiling is because it is supposed to show the fact that people put a mask on to hide their unhappiness. She is also shown waving for the very same reason.
You may be wondering why the heart and hand are on the wrong side, it is because it is a mirror image. I did this so it shows that it is mainly a self evaluation. Most people know if they are empty, and that is what I am trying to show. Negative Space and Detail in Art

My Life I made this piece of art completely using drawing pencils for my Drawing class. Recently I have come to the age where I look to the future and start to plan out my life. This drawing shows what I want to do and obtain, and also what I believe is important to me. The path in the middle is symbolizes the path I chose for myself. The house shows one of my major goals.
The house is of Victorian heritage, and for sale at the moment. Even though I cannot afford it, and when I reach that point it may not be for sale. It is the number one house I want to obtain. Also as an future architect, I really like that style. So, even though not everything always turns out as planned, this is a representation of where I am now, where I want to be, and the place I have set my sights. Angles in Art

Heroes View For this drawing I used a pencil and oil pastel. I chose to make a piece about heroes, because at the time in both U. S. History and English Three the teachers were talking about the Great Depression and World war One. During the great Depression I noticed that the people wanted heroes so they made some up. Also during World War One the people who went and fought for our country became heroes. I was fascinated by the difference between the two, so I created an artwork that compared them. Real on the right, and Imaginary on the left. For me this piece is a reminder that even though I actively use my imagination and think of heroes, there are real ones out there that deserve my respect.
