The poem was inspired by what actually happened to me during the summer. I live out in the country and was basically secluded at home. I missed my friends. When I went back to school I reconnected with my friends and my emotional standing eventually rose back up. In this piece I took my poem and made it into a piece of typographic art infused with images to add more meaning to it.
This project, beyond the mere words of the poem, represents the kindling fire of hope and freedom. What you lost can be ignited by the seeds of friendship sown. The light of my friends bud hope in my life, keeping me from completely crumbling, and on the path of success. |
I made this piece of art completely using drawing pencils for my Drawing class. Recently I have come to the age where I look to the future and start to plan out my life. This drawing shows what I want to do and obtain, and also what I believe is important to me. The path in the middle is symbolizes the path I chose for myself. The house shows one of my major goals.
The house is of Victorian heritage, and for sale at the moment. Even though I cannot afford it, and when I reach that point it may not be for sale. It is the number one house I want to obtain. Also as an future architect, I really like that style. So, even though not everything always turns out as planned, this is a representation of where I am now, where I want to be, and the place I have set my sights. |
This painting I had started a couple of years ago and just recently finished. I used paint and paint and paintbrushes, but not gesso because I had not learned about it yet. I made this painting because I love the night, moon, and stars. Also I believe that it was fall when I started it, therefore the season.
Right now for me it symbolizes the time when darkness has started to come, and life stretches out the last rays of light and joy that push you into a new dawn. It shows the end, but just as seasons and night come and go, there is always a new beginning. |
